Steven Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

Steven asks…

where do you find black white and pink carpet tiles?

I would like black white and pink carpet tiles in my room.I like stripes but I am open to anything.Does anyone know a website with these colors in the tile.Thanks.

carpet cleaner cropped Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

losangel answers:

If Home Depot or Lowes don’t carry those colors I would just call up some local carpet co’s from your phonebook.

Chris Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

Chris asks…

is it okay to put carpet tiles over construction carpet that came with the house?!?

my basements flooring is the carpet it came with when we bought the house…so I would like to put some carpet tiles over it to spruce the place
~thanks so much for the help everyone!

carpet cleaner cropped Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

losangel answers:

I wouldn’t. Those carpet tiles, from my experience, don’t have enough glue backing to stick on top of carpet. You’d be better off ripping the old carpet up. It’s not that hard.

Jenny Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

Jenny asks…

What is the best place to buy Carpet tiles/squares?

Are there any good big chain stores that sell carpet tiles/squares? Honestly I havent looked yet, but I figured I would save some time by getting some advise from you guys. Just looking for some good quality good prices. Online would be a good source but I’d rather actually get a feel for the carpet before ordering.

carpet cleaner cropped Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

losangel answers:

Home depot has some nice ones, Dont buy the really cheap ones that are paper thin, they do not stay down

Daniel Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

Daniel asks…

Where can I find affordable carpet tiles or Foam interlocking tile retail?

I am looking for flooring options for a basement playroom for my son. I can find many options online for foam rubber and carpet tiles that interlock. These are ideal as they can be interchanged if stained etc. I’m looking for them locally (I’m in Detroit, MI) as I’d like to see the product first hand. Any idea who has this?

carpet cleaner cropped Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

losangel answers:

Search for Georgia Carpet Mills, you’ll get many, many results. Too far to drive, they will ship. Look for closeouts and liquidations. I did but I live 1.5 hours away.

Mary Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

Mary asks…

How simple/difficult is installing carpet tiles?

We are buying our first home and want to do some updating but are on a budget. We are not experienced in do-it-yourself home projects but would like to try.

How simple or how difficult is installing carpet tiles? We know nothing about them really.
Just one solid, neutral color.

carpet cleaner cropped Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

losangel answers:

If you are on a budget, I would suggest, instead of tiles, which can be expensive, since they are mainly geared toward commercial uses- finding remnants.

Most tiles are glued down, and as the prior person suggested would be easier for the first time when using a solid color.

You will need to see what kind of glue the manufacturer suggests, or you might void any warranty issue that could arise in the future. The glue for carpet tiles will be an acrylic copolymer that needs to be either trowled or brushed onto the floor. Allow adhesive to dry completely and turn translucent before proceeding with the tile installation. If it is still wet, it will become permanent (verses the “removable”) bond with the tiles.

This kind of glue is used with tiles so that the squares can be easily replaced when damaged …a feature that is important with commercial carpet!

We use AD-VANCED AIRTECH #320 for installation here at our flooring store.

Hope that helps! Good Luck……you can also find good deals at LOTSOFCARPET.COM You will be able to view and purchase tiles over the internet!

Paul Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

Paul asks…

Has anyone every used Murphy’s Oil Soap as a carpet cleaner?

While wiping down walls, I knocked over a full bucket of water mixed with Murphy’s Oil Soap. After using the Wet Dry vac to get up the water, I now have a much cleaner area of rug, as it left a perfect ring where the water spilled! I’m wondering if it made that area of carpet look so clean, if I shouldn’t use it for the entire room..?

carpet cleaner cropped Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

losangel answers:

If the carpet appears not to have suffered any ill effects (i.e. Drying out the backing, etc.), I see no reason why you shouldn’t!

Also, interesting tidbit of information: if you have a termite problem in or around your home, and you pour boiling water on them to kill them, it smells EXACTLY LIKE MURPHY’S OIL SOAP!

Nancy Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

Nancy asks…

How can I get rid of the spray on carpet after “bug bomb” was used?

Landlord fumigated my new apartment, spray from the can is now on my carpet. My Boston Terrier, 16 pounds, runs after her balls, gnaws on her bones and licks her paws. would baking powder neutrilize it and then vacuum it up. Would it be of help to have the carpet cleaned with non toxic cleaner? Is there such a thing as nontoxic rug cleaning? Would wiping carpet off with vinegar work?

carpet cleaner cropped Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

losangel answers:

You can either clean it with something such as PineSol but be sure to check for colorfastness first.

A great alternative to take the spray up is to Take a spray bottle of white vinegar and spray it on the carpet and then sprinkle it with baking soda; let set for about 15 minutes and then vacuum it up.

Donald Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

Donald asks…

Carpet spot cleaner on khaki colored sisal rug didn’t remove blood and left lightened/discolored spots.?

Now I have light colored spots all over my carpet, and the blood is still there too. It did nothing to remove the blood at all. I am more upset about the discoloring than the blood. What can I do about both things?

carpet cleaner cropped Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

losangel answers:

Nothing can be done with the part about the carpet cleaner. Thats why they protect their behind by saying “Test in an inconspicuous spot”
Blood — Take a 1/2 lemon and rub, rub, rub. Rinse w/ a damp cloth and watch as it dries. It may take a few tries GL

Richard Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

Richard asks…

Kenmore rug cleaner spilled and spotted my marble floor. I have tried scrubbing numerous times with water?

The solution is Kenmore Carpet & Upholstery cleaner. The label says it contains anionic surfacants both does not provide details of its ingredients.

carpet cleaner cropped Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

losangel answers:

Marble is very porouse, it will absorb color. U can attempt to re dye it with a high pigment oaint such as ralph lauren, from home depot stores. Try to use 2-3 colors that most match and make same design, as similair as u can. Then just let it sit, as long as u can, may have to repeat it. Try putting a layer of saran wrap over it to keep it moist, for a s long as u can. I can tell u this, it will never ever look the same again, but to be able to camoflage it a little will help. Good luck

Sandy Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

Sandy asks…

How many rounds can I shoot continuously through the Ruger LCR?

I’m asking this question because I just watched a video where a guy had experienced flame cutting on his revolver. The frame was cracked and the cyclinder had white marks on it. I know you shouldn’t fire the over pressure rounds through it alot. What should I know before I buy this gun. Should I just get it in .357mag?

carpet cleaner cropped Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

losangel answers:

It’s more a question of the right tool for the right job.

You don’t buy a tiny Ford Ranger to tow a 6,000lb boat a couple of hundred mile every weekend. You can, but it is going to wear the tiny little pick-up out. You buy a F-250 or F-350 designed for the job.

Similarly – you don’t but a small compact pistol or revolver designed for CCW to do lots and lots of heavy shooting. You buy a full sized pistol.

The problem with watchig U-Tube and similar videos – the world has no shortage of dumb, stupid people doing things that are not correct – folks with no traing and no clue – who also own a camera.

I can’t think of any sport where the less expensive light weight equipment is expected to function like professional grade. Can you? You don’t see people who climb Everest or Denali outfitting at Wal*Mart, do you? You don’t see the folks on Food Network buying stuff at 7-11 do you?

That some Yahoo managed to fire a lighweight compact pistol to failure is not surprising. Like everything else in the world from lumber to whiskey – it all comes in different grades. And you get what you pay for.

Sandra Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

Sandra asks…

Which gun is better for concealed carry the Ruger LCR or the LCP?

Just want to know if I can only buy one, which one is better or easier to carry on a daily basis?
Any owner input would be appreciated. Things you like or don’t like?

carpet cleaner cropped Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

losangel answers:

I would go with the revolver unless you are well versed in automatics. Even then, I’m a vet with over 17 years, and I plan on going with a revolver because of reliability. Of course, if you can afford it, buy both, but get the revolver first.

Look, I’ve carried an M-16 for something like 15 years now. I’ve heard the horror stories about jams, but the only jams I ever had with them were in training and caused by the blank ammo. Having said that, I know from experience that one of the worst feelings in the world is when you really need a gun to shoot and it doesn’t. There are a hundred things that can happen when you fire any automatic, and only one of them is good. Revolvers don’t have the same issues. Now, saying that, are you going to give up rounds and quick reloads? Sure, but what you get is a gun that can be fired through a coat pocket, a gun that can be carried without a safety to fumble with (many wheel guns don’t even have one) and a gun that will never stovepipe, double-feed, or fail to return to battery. Remember, you aren’t the police, you are just there to defend yourself and your loved ones, so you shouldn’t be getting into running gun battles where you need two or three mag changes anyway.

Robert Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

Robert asks…

Is the Ruger LCR a good option to conceal carry?

I’m going to get my conceal carry permit, and I want something small that will fit in my pocket. I want to have good stopping power, but something light enough that I can carry it around all day without noticing it.
Does this gun have any good reviews?
How is it too carry?
Does it have good stopping power?

Here is the website that I found for it: http://ruger.com/LCR/index.html

carpet cleaner cropped Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

losangel answers:

Yes its a super gun……….good for all your needs as you asked.

Maria Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

Maria asks…

Would the Ruger LCR be good gun for a novice?

Are these things hard to find? Are these and the other small revolvers pretty easy to handle?

carpet cleaner cropped Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

losangel answers:

For a complete novice? No.

A revolver with more size, barrel length and weight will be more pleasant to shoot. The Ruger GP-100 would be a good example.

But the Ruger LCR is a valid choice as a snub-nosed revolver for an experienced shooter to carry.
They’re not too difficult to find. Local shops in my area had a few of them in stock during my last visit.

Other good snub-nosed revolvers are the Ruger SP101, the Smith & Wesson Model 60 (and the many variations of it), the Taurus Model 85 (and the many variations of it) and the Colt “Detective Special” revolvers available on the used firearm market.

The short sight-radius of a snub-nosed revolver requires more effort and care from a shooter when aiming at a target. Seemingly small aiming errors generate big misses downrange. Firing a .357 Magnum cartridge in a snub-nosed revolver generates harsh recoil, blinding muzzle flash and deafening noise. That’s why I prefer to use .38 Special cartridges only.

Susan Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

Susan asks…

Is the Ruger LCR easily concealable?

I am torn between the Ruger LCR and the LCP. I like the both and both have their advantages. This gun would need to be for concealed carry and I live in Houston, so pocket carry would be important in the summer? I mean, I am not going to wear a vest to hide the gun.

Any LCR owners have input?

carpet cleaner cropped Los Angeles Carpet Cleaner Frequently Asks Questions

losangel answers:

I actually work in a store that sells both. (In the Houston area, too… But I won’t make this an advertisement.)

Most people get the LCP because they like autoloaders, the size, and the price.
It is a nice pocket pistol, but I wouldn’t prefer it.

The LCR, to me, is a better pocket pistol. .38Spl is a more potent cartridge than .380ACP. The LCR actually has something resembling sights on it. .38Spl is more common and cheaper than .380ACP. The LCR has a much nicer grip. The LCR costs a little more, and is a little larger… But it is still very small and light, not too expensive, and I consider the gains to far outweigh the losses.
I also am not pleased with the reliability of the smaller pocket autos… They seem to be very finicky on what ammunition they like. With the availability of .380ACP… You don’t want a picky eater.

Get a little DeSantis pocket pouch, and you’re ready to go. We have a LEO that is the SWAT sniper… He carries an LCR in a pocket pouch. He absolutely loves it… I’ve never heard him speak poorly of it, and he constantly praises it. The pouch protects the pistol from debris, and keeps things out of the trigger guard. It keeps the pistol oriented correctly for drawing, and it breaks up the outline… Even if you know you’re looking for a handgun, it doesn’t resemble a handgun even with light cargo shorts.

If you’re feeling really spendy… Get the model with a Crimson Trace laser on it from the factory… That’s a sweet package.
